Initially designed as a cheaper alternative to a real dolly, the Jimmy Jib is essentially a long arm with a camera mounted on the end. The remote head can pan and tilt around vertical and horizontal rotation axis and is controlled by a joystick. The arm of the Jimmy Jib can extend from 6 to 40 feet and can be easily and quickly put in place. This simplicity allows the use in productions with a tight budget, and allows the director to try and choose some changes to the original setup with little waste of time.
The Jimmy Jib offers your production high-end looks without a high-end budget. Wide sweeping shots of a set, high shots straight down, and low-to-high camera moves give your production a professional look that is increidbly hard to achieve hand-held or with a tripod.
